Participating in the Career Exploration Program provides students with the opportunity to engage directly with professionals or observe their daily operations, offering invaluable firsthand insights into professional practices. Our ongoing goal is to cultivate an extensive network of partnerships, creating additional opportunities for students to enrich their understanding and gain practical experience as they chart their career paths.

Meet Alayna
I greatly benefitted from Calvin’s job shadow program for many reasons. Firstly, I was able to get a deeper understanding of the roles and obligations of employees in my field of interest. For example, I got to learn about what a data scientist does on a daily basis and what kinds of projects and responsibilities they usually have to meet. Secondly, it was interesting and helpful to experiment with potential employment options, such as the vast array of fields that employ data scientists. I was able to shadow significantly different types of data scientists, from a data science consulting company to an automotive supplier that hires data scientists. Lastly, job shadowing is also a great way to start networking with people from various levels of work experience in the data science field. Overall, I appreciate Calvin’s job shadow program for making these opportunities possible for me.
