About This Opportunity
FPA is currently searching for a Geotechnical Intern for our Wall, New Jersey office.

Key Responsibilities:
- Field Work Support: Assist in conducting geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling, soil testing, and site documentation.
- Data Analysis: Analyze field and laboratory test data, assist in preparing reports, and help with the interpretation of soil properties and geotechnical conditions.
- Laboratory Testing: Support the team in laboratory testing, including soil classification, compaction tests, and consolidation tests.
- Report Preparation: Help prepare technical reports and presentations related to geotechnical findings for clients and project teams.
- Design Support: Assist in the design and analysis of foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and other geotechnical engineering systems.
- Software Use: Utilize geotechnical engineering software (such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or similar tools) to assist with analysis and modeling tasks.
- Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and environmental engineers to ensure geotechnical factors are considered in the overall design and implementation of projects.
- Compliance: Assist in ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Current student pursuing a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Strong academic performance in core engineering courses.
- Basic understanding of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and site investigation techniques.
- Familiarity with geotechnical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, GeoStudio, or similar) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to the success of engineering projects.
