Human Resources Coordinator

Are you an experienced HR professional who is motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about all things HR? If so, the Monroe County Human Resources Department might have the job for you. We are hiring a full-time Human Resources Coordinator. Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Public or Business Administration, or related field with three years of progressively responsible human resources related work experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of human capital management and employment laws to assist in ensuring compliance while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Our Human Resources Coordinator performs a broad range of human resource-related functions to include but not limited to recruitment and retention, labor relations, employee benefits, policy and procedure development, compliance, personnel records, and performance management under the supervision of the Human Resources Director. This position works with County Departments to ensure fair and legally compliant recruitment and selection processes by preparing job postings, receiving and reviewing applications, coordinating and conducting interviews, performing background and reference checks, and authoring offer letters. This position conducts new employee orientations and benefit education and enrollments. The HR Coordinator also processes a variety of personnel actions within our payroll system and addresses issues and questions posed by staff regarding interpretation of policies and related employment law, benefit programs, and personnel management concerns. Minimum starting salary for this position is $27.94 hourly based on experience and qualifications.
