Help Build QualGear’s Next-Generation E-Commerce Experience
QualGear LLC is seeking a talented and motivated Website & AI Developer Intern to help modernize our digital presence and build the next generation of the QualGear online store.
QualGear currently operates a PHP-based company website and a separate Shopify e-commerce store. Our goal is to consolidate these platforms by upgrading our Shopify store to Shopify Online Store 2.0, implementing a modern theme, migrating important website content, and directing all website traffic to a unified Shopify experience.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an undergraduate student who wants to work on a real e-commerce transformation project while gaining practical experience with Shopify development, AI-assisted coding, user experience, search optimization, and website performance.

What You Will Do
Assist with upgrading the QualGear Shopify store to Shopify Online Store 2.0.
Install, configure, edit, and customize a modern Shopify theme.
Use Claude Code, Visual Studio Code, Shopify AI Toolkit, and related AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development.
Work with Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON templates, sections, blocks, metafields, and metaobjects.
Migrate company information, product-category content, support pages, policies, and other website content from the existing PHP website.
Create reusable, responsive Shopify sections and landing-page templates.
Improve website navigation, product discovery, mobile responsiveness, page speed, and accessibility.
Assist with redirects, URL mapping, metadata, image optimization, structured content, and basic technical SEO.
Configure product collections, filters, menus, forms, and content templates.
Test the store across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Identify and resolve layout, browser-compatibility, performance, and usability issues.
Document theme customizations and development procedures so the website can be maintained after the project is completed.
Collaborate with QualGear’s management, marketing, product, and operations teams.
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, web development, digital media, or a related field.
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Familiarity with JavaScript and responsive web design.
Experience using Visual Studio Code or a comparable development environment.
Interest in Shopify, e-commerce, AI-assisted software development, or website automation.
Ability to learn new platforms and independently research technical solutions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to testing work before publication.
Ability to organize files, document changes, and communicate progress clearly.
Availability to work on-site at QualGear’s Anna, Texas facility.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Shopify themes, Liquid, Git, GitHub, APIs, JSON, or Shopify CLI.
Familiarity with Claude Code, generative AI coding tools, or automated testing tools.
Experience with website migration, technical SEO, page-speed optimization, or accessibility.
Understanding of e-commerce merchandising, product collections, filters, and conversion-focused design.
A personal website, GitHub profile, coding project, or portfolio demonstrating relevant work.

Position Details
Position type: Paid, temporary summer internship
Initial duration: Six to eight weeks
Extension: May be extended based on performance, project requirements, and mutual availability

Work arrangement: 100% on-site; this is not a remote or hybrid position
