Position Overview
UrbanPromise summer interns serve for a period of 2 months, working directly with children and youth in our summer camps. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth development, community engagement, and faith-based service.
Interns play a key role in building meaningful relationships, leading activities, and contributing to a safe, fun, and structured environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging lessons, activities, and programs for children
- Build positive, mentoring relationships with youth
- Supervise children and ensure a safe, structured environment
- Follow and help implement daily schedules and curriculum
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community activities
- Assist with program setup, cleanup, and daily operations
- Support behavior management using established systems
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and child protection policies
- Model positive behavior and contribute to a welcoming, Christ-centered environment
Community & Spiritual Life
- Participate in regular team devotions, meetings, and community meals
- Engage in personal spiritual growth and reflection
Qualifications/Skills
- At least 18 years old
- Interest in working with children and youth
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
